So you want to know how to get clients and grow your business. Well, you’ve come to the right place! We’re going to fill you in on a technique we use ourselves and with our own clients. It’s called the Client Attraction Process, or CAP for short.

Firstly, you should know that this is not a ‘magic’ process or a quick-fix approach. But what it IS, is an approach that works. And not only will it help you grow your client list, but it will also ensure you’re connecting with ‘right-fit’ clients – not just any old Jane or Joe.

To put things into perspective, one of our own clients doubled their revenue and net profit within 9 months of us implementing a custom CAP. They were so delighted with the results of their campaign that they now use the process as a part of their standard marketing strategy, implementing CAP campaigns multiple times a year to generate new business.

HOW TO GET CLIENTS: THE CAP IN SHORT

So now that you know WHAT the CAP can do for you, let’s explore HOW to attract right-fit clients to your firm…

When implementing the Client Attraction Process, there are three fundamental steps  ATTRACT, RESPOND & CONVERT.

ATTRACT typically involves creating a downloadable content piece about a topic your ideal clients VALUE, and using paid social media to advertise it to a highly targeted audience.

To collect leads, the download should be “gated” by an opt-in form, which means to retrieve the content, each inquiry is required to input their personal information (for instance their name and email address).

RESPOND involves presenting leads with the content they requested and then adding them to a lead nurturing email sequence. These are drip-fed to leads in order to warm them to your firm. We use marketing automation (software that drip feeds these emails on your behalf so you don’t have to) to achieve this.

The idea here is to avoid a hard- and fast-sell approach. You want to build the type of relationships with leads that make you the obvious choice when they’re ready for, or in need of, your services.

CONVERT is the last step of the process. It involves pre-qualifying leads for further discussions about what your firm can do for them. There’s ‘no one-size-fits-all’ solution, but we recommend offering leads a phone conversation or consultation outright. Once you’ve established their requirements, it’s then time to close them into paying clients.
